I plan on converting my car to MA next summer. Right now, i currently have an A9L computer for it.

Prob is, i've converted it from AOD to t-5 and read that running a 5-spd computer without swapping out the O2 harness may fry the harness. ANyone confirm that?

Basically can I use my A9L or should I try to get an A9P??

Hmm never heard if this. when I did my aod swap I left my A9P in and I have never had any issues, my buddy put a A9L into his after his swap w/o issues other than he didn't really notice that much if any difference over the P. Most of the stuff I have read on conversions is they use the '89 harness and the A9P with success and most seem to like the A9P. I thought about getting the A9L until after my buddy swapped his + I did some reading and found the A9L has good spark & injector maps so I left things alone. Sounds like if you get the "P" you shouldn't have any issues although this is a new one to me .

Using a manual ECM in an Auto setup and it frying is a Reality

The problem is the difference in the harnesses and a mis match of the SIGRTN for the NGS for a T-5 and the NSS for the AOD. Start voltage is routed through the NSS in Auto setups and not in Manual setup. This is were the Frying happens, as the SIGRTN is a sourced ground and a 12 blast will fry it and cause holly hell in the ECM when a A9L is used in an Auto setup.

The O2 harness plugs into a 8 PIN black connector on the passenger side fenderwell. In that connector is a PIN for the NDS circuit, a PIN for Auto and a PIN for Manual. On the Auto 02 harness the NDS is connected to the Auto PIN and in Manual 02 harness the NDS PIN is connected to the Manul PIN. You should be able to switch the NDS from Auto to Manual and Be Fine......Hope this Helps..

But I can always adjust that when i get a dyno tune.

Basically i want to convert to MA, install my Heads and Cam and 24's and go get a dyno tune done on an SCT chip...so i just need to get a running setup first
