MAF/Injector question

I have Dyno2000. I'm dyno'ing at ~75% of it's estimate, FWIW.
Stinger's correct about the TB. My 50mm '93 flowed 278 CFM, waaaaaay more than those intake ports can pull. Remember, a four cylinder engine has the unique configuration of drawing only one cylinder at a time (every 180*).
stinger, on v8 cars u change the maf when u change size of injectors. He was asking if that would work on his 4 cyl which no it wont the meter is set up diffrent
That's what I'm doing though I know it's not technically correct. I have 21# injectors and a Pro-Flow recal of my stock (65mm?) MAF. The A/F ratio checks out on the dyno.
FreakingTiger, can you list your mods and ultimate goal?

Well:

Car is '93 DP
Car will soon have a Ranger header(JET-HOT coated) installed with-
Hi-flo single cat w/Supertrapp(tuned for torque)
(exhaust will be in a single sidepipe config., all mandrel bends, etc.)
EGR delete
I plan to mill(can I safely do 10:1 compression on 93 octane, considering the computer will adjust timing?), port and polish a new DP head I have, I also would like to investigate other cams(though I am beginning to believe the stock roller is the best choice for bottom end[?])
I would like to go with bigger valves as well, but will they make a difference? I am thinking this will depend on my cam choice.
Is there a better roller cam for an N/A than stock? I believe a turbo roller will just steal all my bottom end, I've never had this car over say 3200 rpm.
Gasket matching, and porting of plenum, G.M. lower(can't port w/o cutting/welding)
I would also like to increase my runner length honestly, I looked at the Ranger manifold, then decided against it, but I figure if I can add(I found a formula for determinig optimal runner length)a few inches between the throttle body(an milled aluminum adapter), and perhaps a 1" phenolic spacer(theres a plastics shop in town that will mill one to my specs)
Got a 3 row Summit aluminum rad, trying to find time to drop in a 180 T.S., and how about a hi-flow alum pump?
Oil cooler
T-5 conversion
Hopefully next month an aluminum pipe CAI w/cone
And I guess lastly, a beefed up ignition

Hope that's not to long-winded, but this is the general plan along with lightening the vehicle. I've already deleted the rear seat, and I will install some poly buckets I had left over from a failed project. The goal is to wring out every possible horsepower available to this engine in its N/A state through optimizing the efficiency of the engine(cutting down heat, improving airflow as much as possible, etc.). I don't want a drag car just a daily driver with as much zip as possible. :D

I figure with the fuel injection, DIS ignition, etc., I should be able to get a little more than one horsepower per cubic inch. Is 180 horse attainable?

Help me out guys.

And yes, I do want to build a turbo car(truck actually), but in my current situation I can't.

We share the same goal.

Acceleration?

Nah, don't got none of that.

Only had it a few weeks.
Really disappointed in its performance.
Had an 83 Ranger w/c4.
Much quicker.
But it blew up.
Anyways, so far:

1 Hide-A-Key--has proved itself already
2 got the svo duals layin in the back
(kinda like that rattley sound they make)
maybe put those on this weekend
3 Took that big thing in the intake that
looks like a link sausage on steroids &
smashed it
4 Thumb tacks in the droopy headliner
5 CAI-(actually, jus bypassed the heater
core) but that's cold air ain't it?

My 0-60 time around 11 sec

Wheeeeeeeeeeeee

I'm flyin now

Uhhhh........

Freaking, spend some time studying my dyno pulls; we have the same engine and similar goals. Note especially the RPM for peak torque.

You've never had your car over 3200 rpm?? you are missing out on alot of the powerband, my car pulls all the way to about 5800. I never have my car under 3200, I stand on that sucker and make it work till the limiter.

Dr.

Key, weight removal..and keeping in the revs. N/a makes no power down low...gets good gas milage that way though.

I just can't afford to have the car put out of commission right now. The A4LD isn't helping matters either, maybe a 5 speed swap this summer?

Yep. To get to your goal of 180 HP the torque peak will need to be moved up to, ohhhhh, let's say 5000 RPM and it won't idle below 1000. Still want 180 HP? Food for thought.

Say, where's Huff? I believe he also has a slushbox....?
