MAF Meter..is sodering a must?

Cool site Don 95Vert. Thanks for the link. I couldn't find an a,b,c,d anywhere on my olf MAF wiring so I matched up the red and bkack and then the greenish blue with the greenish blue and white to beige.

As to the soldering, it says "imperative" on your site. I am wondering what the other guys have done on this site though.. I don't have a soder gun and want to drive it to a friends house who does. The wires are very tight and well secured. I am wondering if it is ok to drive it to there...I haven't started the car yet but going to tomorrow after I double check everything. I just did the head, maf, injectors etc swap..

The MAF is the MOST important sensor on your car - it even has its own dedicated ground wire. A good, clean connection is vital. We've seen too may spliced or butt connectors used that fail in a very short time and the cars run like crap. You can get solder in thin 'leaves' that you wrap around the wires and use a lighter to melt, but like the other have said, just get a cheapy soldering iron and do it right. Don't use plumbing solder either - it has acid in it that'll kill wiring.
