Hello. Im swapping a 90 mustang 5.0 into an older truck and will be using a 95 Mustang maf. I'm fabricating a cold air inlet using the existing opening in the core support just beside the radiator. Since this kinda acts like a ram air effect I'll probably fab some type of diffuser or shield so as not to create turbulence in the air duct. Any advice/tips you can offer on that would be greatly appreciated. Also, does it make a difference how far the maf is mounted from the throttle body or air filter? Thanks!

Are you using a stock SN95 MAF? Some of the aftermarket versions dont react well to a bend right before their housing (which is how many CAI's for 94-95's come), so that might be a consideration.

The air filter should act as a diffuser of sorts, no?

Good luck and bump.

Thanks. It is the stock 95 (non cobra) 70mm maf. I was thinking of running a speed density tube between the maf and tbody, then a 3 1/2 or 4 inch straight tube between the maf and filter.
