95 cobra's came with 24lb. injectors right? If i am going to get a new maf do i have to do any tuning to the car other than get a maf already calibrated for cai and 24lb. injectors?

Apparently my ex-husband made that mistake.

Yes, they have 24lb injectors, but they use the exact same MAF as the GT. The difference in calibration is in the computer. So, in simple terms, you have to get a MAF calibrated for 19lb injectors. Or just call PMAS, and they will tell you exactly what you need.

More importantly WHY do you think you need a new MAF? Not busting your chops but with no information as to mods on the car in the sig...you actually may not yet need a bigger maf and can spend the money on something that will be a bigger bang for the buck.

The factory MAF is good to around the 290-300rwhp number give or take. If 24lb injectors are still ok for your fuel needs chances are your stock MAF is as well. Unless you can verify your pegging your stock meter (datalog, run some wires into the cabin to a digital volt meter) going to an aftermarket meter is probably not the best money spent.

All good points and well said by Greg

Another thing about the OEM meter working at the high end of its limit

Its one thing to do that with pcm access
but
Its another thing to try and do it with only mechanical means :Word:

You are gonna be hard pressed to do it without upping the pressure a
good bit and that can throw other parts of the tune outta whack

I did it with 30's at OEM pressure
and
The fuel was spot on with good inj duty cycle
but
The little meter can only deal with so much before becomming overwhelmed

Well, i have an aweful surging idle, and at 4200 rpm the thing starts cutting out on me under hard acceleration. The other day i was listening to the surging idle and i decided to unplug the maf, when i did, it ran beautifully. But today i unplugged it again, and it did not change a thing. Kept on surging..

Have you tried another OEM meter? You might have a meter issue or some other issue, and running in FMEM masks it.

That doesn't necessarily mean the MAF is faulty.

Do you have 24's on your car? Did you get a tune for them? If not, there could be your prob right there.

Run your CEL codes first before throwing money at parts that may not be faulty.

A list of your mods and what car you have would help too.

Have youn run the codes yet? Just because the CEL isn't on doesn't mean there aren't codes stored

There should be a gasket there. Also search on cleaning the maf itself with computer cleaner. A LOT of stupid issues have been caused by a dirty 94-95 maf.
