How can I tell if I have a stock MAF or aftermarket one? After reading an article in a previous thread I think maybe this is why I may have some weak lowend? Previous owner may have put an aftermarket MAF in the car? I dunno and would like to check.

Can I get some more explainations on MAFs, if aftermarket maf's can really screw up timing curves, is the only safe way to get a new maf is to get a custom tune? So if i want to get a h/c/i (trick flow in particular) that would mean a person would also need to upgrade their maf, tb, injectors, and get a custom tune? Im still new and learning before i touch anything

If its polished its deffinatly an aftermarket. Also my C&l says C&L on the bottom of it you could that too. just a few ideas.

The stock MAF will say ford on the housing somewhere I believe. Aftermarket ones will say C&L or Pro-M, usually on the electronics themselves. A quality MAF (Pro-M) will not hurt low-end performance. A crappy MAF (C&L) will f*** everything up. Not saying all C&L's are bad, but mine's a POS and so has everybody else's I know. When doing a decent h/c/i swap, injectors are usually neccessary (unless building a mild combo, like gt-40's etc). You mentioned Trickflow, you'll need bigger injectors for that setup most likely. Of course with injectors comes a new MAF. Can't have one without the other.

and with a new MAF I'd need a tune, correct? And new fuel pump for the extra power?

Depends on what your other supporting mods are. Are you going to go with a MAF calibrated for 19lb/hr injectors or larger?

If the MAF is calibrated for 19lb/hr (GT stock) you should just be able to swap it in, no problem. If you go here http://fordfuelinjection.com they explain why if you want larger injectors, you should still use a MAF calibrated for stock injectors and then just tune the computer for the larger injectors.
