I currently have an o/r x to a magnaflow catback ( not resonators ).. but it still isnt loud enough, if i put flowmasters on instead of the magnaflow would it make it louder?... how much louder if so?

+1 on the bassani. I'm running the ssteeda catback with the bassani x-pipe and it can be pretty loud, get compliments on it all the time and it's something other than flowmasters. Nothing wrong with flows, just like to be different.

flow's rule! chambered mufflers definitely give it some resonance and a deeper sound. if you have offroad exhaust it's all you'll hear pretty much though, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. nothing worng w/ magnaflows imo though, quality product and sound nice.

if flowmaster wasn't the best selling muffler, then the next best selling muffler will be dogged on for being the most popular (because so-called everyone has it) and flowmaster will be respected for its sound.

that's how I see this.

true, most Mustangs I know have Flowmasters, that's because they sound great in the opinion of most of the public who buys them. They may not gain much power (or any power at all) but I honestly couldn't feel 3-5 rwhp from an exhaust anyways. it's just the placebo effect.

I have the same exhaust setup and at first I didn't think it was loud enough either and considered switching to bassani or borla stingers, but everyone of my friends would keep telling me that they could hear me coming to their house from block maybe even a mile away if I got on it, so I had one of my friends drive my car and I followed and yes it is loud...period, it just isn't as loud in the car, just a little hint before you spend money on another system, my advice would be different mod not a different exhaust, just check my clip in my sig

I had Magnaflows w/ a Bassani off road x on my old 97 Cobra, & to me, it was LOUD...... On my Mach 1 I have an MRT catted H & when I had the Magnaflows, the cats made it too quiet so I switched to Bassani & now it sounds perfect IMO... They sound very throaty like flows, but with a better tone & less drone

Im not a big fan of off road exhaust because it pops & crackles too much for my taste. High flow cats dont make u lose much power & imo they do alot to smooth out the exhaust note, plus u dont have to breath nasty exhaust fumes at every light.
