Well, I finally broke down and bought a magnaflow catback for my '02 GT. Should be here tomorrow.

Now I must choose between mid-pipes. For me, it's between the Magnaflow o/r X and the prochamber. I've listened to both on mustangexhaust and they both sound good, so I think it comes down to power increase and quality.

I'd like to hear what some of you guys think in regards to the quality and power increases between the prochamber and magnaflow o/r X. Also, if a certain combination sounds like ass in real life, let me know that too!!

Thanks!!
Riley

I had the Magnaflow catted X on my GT and then on my Cobra, the quality was top notch.
I took it off the Cobra b/c it didn't sound as good as it did on my GT.
My buddy bought the Prochamber. It's not stainless and thats a big - in my book. The quality is not up to par w/ the Magie ether.

The power increase of both won't be to different between the two. 2 hp maybe.

It all comes down to you sound prefrence and if you was a stainless peice.

since you're up north, I'd go with the magnaflow X-pipe, so it won't rust.

Hmm, that's a good point. The Prochamber is HTS coated, but I think stainless is always better.

Anyone else have an opinion?

OK, I decided on the MAgnaflow X. Now in the future, if I want to make the move to L/T headers can the X be modified to work? Or will I have to purchase another midpipe?

Edit: Whoa!! Weird.. I posted this message AFTER reading JonJon's post, but mine shows up before him??

The reason I didn't even look at the Prochamber was because of the rust factor. Mac stuff seems to rust easy.

Does ceramic == HTS? or is Ceramic > HTS?

I see the one Partshopper sells is HTS coated.

I vote stainless. look at vrs midpipe as well. it was cheaper than the magnaflow when I bought mine but I have not looked lately.

you midepipe wouyld have to be modified if you wanted longtubes. I am not sure if anyone makes a midepipe that will do both. I read that bassani's midpipe could be used with there mid lenght and stock. then I read it could not. never looked into which was true. basically a stainless o/r x-pipe will sell easy on ebay so if you go longtubes later just get a diffnerent one. that is what I am doing.

HTS is not ceramic. Ceramic coating is better than HTS coating. I think you can get the prochamber from Mac with the ceramic coating but I'm not sure so dont quote me on that.

I have the Pro-Chamber along with the Magnapacks and it sounds alot better IMO. If I did it over again, I would get it Jet-Hot coated and not have to worry about the rust. Someone on here did that and it cost them an additional $100 and it looks great. Pro-Chamber=teh win!!
