Any body here got long tubes, H pipe, and Magnaflow?

I have 3 chamber flow masters, and the car sounds good, but I'm looking for a more "exotic" sound (Bassani, Borla, etc.) that's louder as well.

My mustang "guru" has Magnaflow on his new Mach 1, and it sounds awesome.

Bassani and Borla are seriously expensive, and summit has Magnaflow (stainless steel) for $440.

Any sound clips or thoughts?

Thanks

Above 2k though, do the scream? I need a little more volume

Edit: You've been plenty helpful. How would you describe the sound?

Thanks man! I appreciate it. If you have to go way out of your way, don't worry about it.

Thanks though!

I have a similar setup but with a catted x-pipe. I also ran the 3-chamber Flowmasters for years and decided to try the magnaflows. The Magnaflows are quieter than the Flowmasters but have a decent wail at higher rpms. I think that has more to do with the x-pipe. My exhaust definitely won't be scaring anybody off but right now I'm liking the more toned down note. Also, it doesn't sound nearly as good as a Mod motor with Magnaflows. Eventually I'll switch back to Flowmasters and put the Magnaflows on my '92 (daily driver) .

Thanks for the help. I've been told that they are more quiet, and that they sound better on mod motors. I just wanted to hear the opinions from some fox guys who had them.

Oh, and if you're already running H/C/I and they're quiet, they would probably whisper on my car

The key to them being loud is not having cats. Mine were loud when my engine was stock, now they are pretty loud at idle and are very loud above 2000 rpms.

Do you think the cats have that much to do with it?

I know for a fact that cats will play a huge part in quieting down the exhaust. My dads mach 1 with magnaflows sounded almost stock with cats, without them it was rediculisly loud.

Im running BBK shorty cermaic headers with BBk off road x pipe and magnaflow cat back. I bought the cat back off ebay from a wholesale guy last year for 300.00. My car is extremely loud. Its like the others said. Its quiet at idle. not to quiet. And once you get on it. Like even in town. Damn is it loud. Nobody in my town has a exhaust sound like mine. thats why i like it. It sounds like a very expensive sports car. And when you rev it up its killer.

Mine are the regular stainless straight through mufflers, not the magnapacks.

I'm just talking whatever comes in the "stainless steel" cat-back system.

I really want that "exotic" tone. Our Saleen has it (Kook's custom 1 7/8'' long tubes, borla X and Borla cat back).

I've got Mags on my 88 with a HCI and like others have said it sounds very quiet at idle, but when you get on it, it's loud as ****! For the price I paid they really can't be beat......but then again I have no cats so....
