magnapack tip bracket thing

ok here is the deal i installed a magnapack catback on my 03 gt (which sounds SIIIIIIICK by the way!!) but the metal hanger on the tip which allows me to adjust the tip has rattled off my car on the drivers side.. where can i get one of these things? anyone else had this problem?

nah not yet, i will have to contact them tommorrow..yea i have heard of the tips rattling and *****, but i didnt know that metal hanger would rattle off...now my stang looks ghetto with only one tip

That is wierd. A couple of days after I put my magnapacks on I noticed that one of the tips had moved slightly, so I straighted it and re-tightened its fastener (on the same hanger thing that you're talking about). I have never heard them rattle before. If I were you, I would get up under there and see what else is loose and then go ahead and tighten it down. That catback system is a pretty tight fit, so nothing should be rattling. Maybe you can talk Magnaflow into sending you another tip.

the catback fits real nice under the car, its just that the iron rod that holds the tip flush with the bumper just fell off!! GODDAMMIT!i will give them a call tommorrow

the bushing of the hanger should hold the metal rod.. the little hex nut screw thingy got loose twice but the rod never fell off.. nor did the hex nut..

o.. and i got a rattle one time on driver side rod. I just wrapped the end of the rod with a rubberband and problem solved

Same problem when I had the magna pack, got rid of it for the regular mag cat back, found the set srews at true value added some lock tight, no problems in 12,000 miles, I think the extremely low tone of the magna pack is the culprit

i had the same problem, the set screw rattled loose, and while driving to work the metal hanger rattled its way off of my car. i think it was like $15-$20 to get a new hanger from magnaflow, and you can get the set screw at any hardware store for under $1. make sure ,like wickeddroptop said, to get some locktite. i think red is permanent and blue is temporary, depending on if you want to take your tips off to clean them. just go to the magnaflow website, and the should be a customer service number to call, and they will send you the new hanger.
