Hey guys I have a 1969 Mach 1 and i am planning on buying a set of 15X8 magnum 500's for my car or 15X7 on the front and 15X8 on the back. Would 15X8 with p245 or p265s fit my car and not make contact with wells when steering, and could i run p295 on the rear magnums without modifying the wheel well? Thanks guys whatever info can be given is appreciated.

you can run a 15x8 all the way around with 235/60-15 maybe 245 on the front. you can run a 275/50-15 on the rear for sure, that's what i'm running right now, i had to roll the fender lips on the back but that's because i have an odd offset rear wheel, but it is 15x8. once i get my versailles rear in i will have enough room for a 295/50. if you pick the backspace carefully you can run a 295/50 without having to roll the lip, but i would recommend it anyway. if you decide to go with a 275/50 i would suggest a 225/50 in the front because the 235/60 is about 1/8" taller than the 275/50. you could also go with a 275/60-15 in th rear and run a 235 or maybe 245/60-15 in front for a good look as well

buy me a set while ur at it :D
Lol i wish i could but this is the last thing i plan to do at the end of summer and can barely afford it myself. Good luck to you though.

So the p295's may be able to fit in there without mods cause i have a 9inch rear, and i heard some of the boss 429's in 69 came with the p295's.

never heard of anything from the factory with a 295. possible a dealer added that tire or actually it's lettered eqivalent (f70-14, f60-15 etc.) and it doesn't really have anything to do with it being a 9" either, mine has a 9" now, like i said i have a weird offset on my current wheels (not factory) the reason i'll be able to fit them once i get the versailles rear in is because it is narrower than the stock rear by about 3/4" which is all i need to fit the 295.

I had 15x8 with P235/60R15's on the 69 SCJ. Fills out the wheel openings nicely without looking too big.

I have p225/70r14's all around right now and i don't get much traction. After i build the motor i will be pushing a little over 400fwhp and i need some good traction. These tires just won't do, but the 295's would be great and not look way too huge on my car. They might stick out a 1/4" tops. But i really need to know what sizes will fit before i go blow $1000 on rims and tires.

I am running 15x7 with 235/60r15 and 15x8 on the rear with 255/60r15. They fit pretty well, on a little rub in the front when backing up with the wheel cranked.

I had 295/50s on a 69 428 Mach I owned rears ago and they really were too big. Also, that tire is on the big side for an 8 inch rim. If you make the horsepower that you say you will, even 295 will go up in smoke. It's not size at that point, it;s compound and tread.

Really the 295's would go up in smoke too. Man i want my car to be able to handle the muscle i put into it what would you recommend. The p275's i need something that will keep me from burning up all my tread if possible or atleast let the car kick the crap out of most cars out there. (ie: 04 Cobra, sti, evo) Help me out with some other sizes guys if the 295's aren't worth it. If there is any possibility theyd fit and not be a hassle tell me.

i'd say go with the 275 on the 8" rim, max power is right that the 295 is a bit big fro an 8" rim, but that really matters most when driving in the twisties, the recommended rim width is actually 8.5-10" IIRC. i'm going to get the 295"s for my 8" wheels, but i do planning on changing the wheels within the next year or so
