if your looking to keep it pretty much stock go with the cobra... bottom line more power, few easy mods and you'll be making some nice power if you want to later on.
I raced a 99 cobra (not sure if he had mods) in my GT and beat him by about a bumper and a half. It was very close, but I expected to get beat. He might have had one of the cobras that were down on power. But I have driven both too, and I couldnt feel enough of a difference to justify the extra money. You can hang with a pre 03 cobra with a few bolt-ons,but if it's a newer blown cobra, forget it!!
Solid rears have no wheel hop eh? I get plenty in my Mach at times, the quad shocks are supposed to help that, but it happens on hard launches.. There is just less with a solid rear than IRS..
As far as IRS wheel hop, ya well.. There are plenty Cobras in my area that are getting sub 2.0 short times on stock rubber..

well i've been finding 99 cobras for around the same price as 00 GT's. i might just get the snake. usually don't gts make around 230 ish to the wheel with normal bolt ons. the cobras get up to around 290 ish from what I researched.
I guess the cobra would be better. my old car had about 230 to the wheels, but it weighed 2700 lbs. I need at least 300. If anyone knows of someone wanting to sell a black on grey 99 cobra with good mileage and a decent price let me know.
