Well i just took my car to the track for the first time with the transgo in and its not good!! I raced a 93 RX7 Turbo who ran a 13.5 at 103 i had him by 1 length the whole entire track and whadda ya know the stupid thing shifts into OD. I dunno what to do, can this be corrected? Im seriously thinking about a t-5 swap now!! I mean the shifts are great very firm, but the OD thing is not cool, please lemme know what to do.

If I am correct I believe that the transgo shiftkits have a "hi rev kit" that comes with them. If you put that in it will cause it to shift into OD even in D under full throttle. Not good for your OD band.

I know that I didn't put the hi rev kit in my transgo and it stays in drive when I am at the track. It traps right around 5800 rpm.

The shifting into OD is one of the big complaints that folks have with the transgo shift kits. Or at least the one that I have heard. I don't understand why they would design it so that it would shift into OD even when it is in the D position.

Yeah I didnt install the hi Rev thing. I went from a 13.6 at 102, to a 14.7 at 94, all because of it shifting into OD, so much for performance huh? Im very very very close to ordering a t5 swap, i may just do it tonight. The shifts are great to bad of the OD thing, ahh this sucks!!

If you can take the hi rev kit out it should take care of the problem.

If not www.becontrols.com also makes a very nice shift kit for an AOD or you could do a lentech valve body. They're not cheap but very nice. I plan on getting one when I rebuild my AOD.

My transgo is doing that crap every now and then too. I will one day pull it out and go full manual. Mine seems to have no method to it's madness. Sometimes it will do it, sometimes it won't. Sometimes it will shift into OD then right back into 3rd. I tend to think if you even flinch your foot to effect vacumn it will shift? I use to recommend the transgo. Not now. And I have to believe, atleast in my case, that it's something inside that is getting some wear on it. Since it never did that when it was first installed. I run the high rev gov so maybe the springs or something is getting weak. Might be worth a call to transgo and see what their excuse for it is?

Without a doubt go with a Lentech valve body. Electronic O/D delete and whiplash shifts. one word= AWESOME!!!!

Definitly check around for a manual valve body,or semi manual (still has a "D" gear),you can control each shift and its lightning quick.

Having tried shift kits, for the time and money, its easier and not much more to just buy a valvebody.

However, for years people have been trying to get AOD's to shift into od a full throttle. Sounds like it's working ok.

Your best bet is to keep the lockup converter and get a very loose converter. That will take .5 to 1 tenth off the quarter easier than any other mod, and still keep od.
