i think if you look at the generic cup holders you can fab something up a bit more secure. I mean, when you take a turn there goes the big gulp on the seat cushion if it's not wedged in there well enough.

Just got my cupholder from 50resto today--the one that sits in where your ashtray normally is. I think it's great, the actual holders are a little shallow, but other than that thing was made of good quality.

I remember seeing a pic of a guy who had a Cheeta shifter located to where the ashtray used to be, and where his 5 speed used to be he made a cup holder. I think it was someone on here actually. Seemed pretty cool. I just use a plain old .65 cent window hanger cup holder, and when i'm not using it i just pull it off and drop it in the back floor board.

Because its huge! I wont even be able to pull my e brake up halfway. The thing looks like it came out of an expedition! I ordered it while in Iraq so by the time I got home it was too late tosend back to 50resto.com.

I've got the 50resto cup holder arm rest installed in one of my cars. It has it's good and bad points. It doesn't interfere with my e-brake at all. I don't see why it would unless your cable is really loose. It looks good and definitely does it's job. The only thing i don't like about it is that it doesn't have any sort of latch, so if you put the arm rest up, it'll fall over onto the back seat. This would be easy to fix, but since i never put up my arm rest, i'm not about to bother.

honestly, i much prefer my car with no arm rest. I'm planning to fabricate my own cupholders for that car when i have some free time.

When I set my cup arm rest on to of the original one it is very long. Then if I act as if I am going to pull up my e brake, my e brake handle has very little roon to come up. Maybe they sent me one that was made for a 94 up model?

No, you've got the right one. It's longer than the stock part because it has to leave room at the front for the cupholder to hang down. There may be very little room between your e-brake handle and the arm rest, but it should not touch. If it does touch, you probably need to tighten up your e-brake cable.

I'll try to get a pic of mine and post it so you guys can all see how it looks.
