Ok. I like to add more power to my 2.3L N/A engine. I did typical tuneups including sparkplugs, plug wires, injector cleaners, air filters and so on. So I was thinking about getting my hands on a turbo. But someone told me I could possibly blow up my engine if I wanted to install a turbo system. I have about 250,000 km on the engine now. Is it safe? in your opinion. And does anyone have more info on this type of upgrade. Thank You

hey. i asked the same question back in the day and got this answer. Your n/a motor just cant take a turbo on it. you would be better off just goin and gettin a turbo engine out of a turbo coupe, XR4ti or SVO and maybe dropping it in yours. Stinger has a website that is devoted to this. I bother him so much with so many questions but his site is very helpful. hope this helps

I've seen DP DIS 2.3L with turbos before but you really have to research it. Heres a link to a Ranger with it done just incase people don't believe me There is a guy off TF with a few of them running with 17psi of boost without any top end electronics also.

http://www.sdsefi.com/features/july00ranger.htm

Its just way easier to drop in a 2.3T from a TC than it is to figureout and bolt a turbo on to a DP DIS 2.3L.
