It all started with just looking at new rims for my 95 mustang.. when I saw some really nice saleen wheels. And then I started thinking about making the whole car into a saleen conversion.

I'm pretty new to this so that's why I'm here. Anybody wanna help me out and give me some ideas on what all I need to convert? I mean.. I don't want to get a saleen body kit and just have this v6 that can't outrun any other sports car out there. Or is doing a V6 saleen conversion just a waste of time?

articles, links, or any pics are appreciated also, thanks!

u need to do alot of things to make it a complete conversion. the first thing you have to think is, what are you going to do to your engine? you should supercharge it. the other things, such as body kit, stickers, etc you can do a search on google and you will find many webpages that list and give a detailed explanation of how to do a conversion. hope this helped.

all 90% of saleens are are stock GT mustangs with ground effects and rims possibly upgraded brakes and interior and a set of pulleys, chip, just about it you can of course get a blown car or what not but 90% are just bolt on GTs with ground effects...

just buy the rims (oem saleen are VERY expensive so go knock off and STAY away from eagle their quality sucks) and buy ground effects from saleen direct.

lower the car 1-1.5 inches up grade your brakes and run dual exhaust you are about done :) with the looks at least.

Obviously he's (or she's) more interested in the perrformance aspect of saleen, so you will be looking mainly at a pulley(s), supercharger (and all the things that come along with one of those, lol.) exhaust, brakes, suspension (lowered), minor other things. but i agree, go third party, or try and find somethingl ike saleen rims used. that would be your best bet.

If i had the money to make a saleen conversion......I'd sell my v6 and buy a newer v8. I've seen more than a few saleen wannabes on the street and I just dont think it's unique or logical. Think about it...

1.Parts are not cheap....at all.
2.Your car would be in the shop and you'd have to pay somebody unless your a semi-decent mechanic yourself and wanna risk f'in your car up.
3.You'd have to get your car painted
4.In the end your still running a 95 v6
5.Paint - $1k Supercharger - $2-3k + at least another grand for other parts ...take that money plus trade in on your car and you would have a hefty downpayment on a saweeet 99-04 GT or Mach 1

But if your into 94-98 stangs.....agreed with marvin....get a cobra

why would you want people to think you paid too much for an underperforming car? thats all that crosses my mind when i see a saleen. although i do like their body kits...they are nice LOOKING cars...kinda like rousch (or however you spell it)...sure their cars are nice looking...but for the money you pay, you could make another mustang 10x better. Hell a barely modified rousch GT is the same price as a mustang cobra.
