Fox Making accessory pulleys looking new again?

Happy holidays everyone!

I made some progress on the convertible yesterday. But some of my pulleys look horrible. Mainly the AC compressor cover, and smog pump pulley. I see replacement pulleys sold for the smog pump. It's just 3 bolts holding it in place?

My only thought on the AC compressor cover is scuff it down and use some automotive paint with a brush. I plan on doing that with the AC compressor lines.

Thoughts?

You should be able to remove the clutch and pulley from the compressor without much effort but lets see if @Mustang5L5 will chime in here as he seems to be our resident SME on AC stuff and can guide you an getting that apart and reconditioned.

Thanks for the link. If the AC clutch isn't too hard to remove and install a new one. I may go with this.

It's probably not a horrible idea depending on how old your AC clutch is.

Mine made a horrible noise when it finally ate through the clutch plate.

Its a lower mileage car, but one wouldn't think so after looking in the engine bay. I'll add it to the list of things to do.

I plan on rebuilding a factory NipponDenso 6P148A Compressor. This thread will show details of that progress. It will be completed in stages, so I recommend clicking the watch button at the top right to get future updates as this won't be done all at once.

Initial thread will be a bit all over the place as I perform various tasks in rebuilding the compressor. Just bear with me.

My compressor seems ok at first glance. The Clutch bearing is failing, so that will also be replaced. I will detail out the clutch replacement, part numbers, and the AC compressor rebuild with part numbers...
