Making Brembo EVO Calipers Fit a Stang

I might be able to come up on some stock EVO brembo calipers for cheap. Is there anyway to make these fit my car? Would would have to be done to make it work?

don't know about that but here is a cheap cobra front/rear set i found on ebay. Looks like the only thing missing is the rear mounting brackets.

no, just go to buyfordracing.com and buy the real brembo/cobra R brake kit.

but i can get these calipers for 200 for both. Think there is any way to make them fit?

probably have to do a lot of fab work. will cost you more in time and engineering than it would to just buy the calipers that were designed for your vehicle.

The Cobra R Brembo kit is hellishly expensive.

MSRP is $1,150

Also, it requires greater backspacing than a GT rim typically has. The backspacing for the brake kit is 6.12"

Its an awesome kit though

ya, if you get it from www.buyfordracing.com you pay a lot less.

another thing you have to consider is the thickness of the pads vs the stock rotors. they might not be designed to use a thicker rotor.

Yup, a little bit of engineering is gonna have to go into a retrofit. It's not a simple bolt and play

you will also need to make custom lines, i can almost guarantee that the thread pitch and size on the mitsu ones are diff. i know the cobra R kit comes with goodridge stainless lines. you will probably have to make custom ones, which are not legal in the US because they wouldnt be DOT legal.

I've been known to fabricate a few things in my day, but brakes aren't one of them. I just don't like the idea of tampering with safety items, ESP. brakes.

ive fabricated brakes on a car with a friend, but he was experienced with CAD, and we did plans for it all beforehand. basically we put the old brake setup off of my car onto his 63 studebaker avanti. it took a lot of work adapting brackets, and finding the right bolts and fittings.

not to sound like an a-hole but if you have to come hear and ask what you need this task is proably over your head.

unless you are buddies with someone at a machine shop or something. even if you cad it up yourself 1 off pieces are not cheap.

I would call brembo's tech line and see what kind of insight they give you.

Brakes are one thing that should NEVER be compromised. In fact, installing any set of used Cobra brakes would be MUCH safer than installing some "rigged" EVO/Brembo brakes.

putting evolution calipers / subaru sti calipers is not impossible nor is it dangerous , i have it done on my car and am willing to make it possible for others , if you would like pictures just let me know gladly send them
