hey everyone! im doing the best mod for my 5.0:D

i got everything apart(seat out, sterring column out) up to the auto pedal assembly. i was looking at my auto assembly and i noticed a electrical connection on it? that is in a different spot than on my manual pedals... and i dont even have a connector to go into the manual pedals???? the instructions say there is one taped up but i cant find it!>!>! im not sure if this even matters, i dont care about a dummy switch:) i just dont want to put everything toghetehr and find out that my car wont start!!!!
so this is question 1 of many to come! maybe not!>!>>!>!>>????

i know that on the manual pedals seems to have no connecters, but it actually does have a mating part, its just wrapped up with the big harness. its for the clutch switch, all it does is let the ignition know that the clutch pedal is depressed when starting the car. Its jumpered on an auto, and i just left mine that way when i did mine, doesnt hurt anything, just make sure you have the clutch down or in neutral before starting the car.

ok great!!! now what about starting the car while not in park, i know the car wont start unless in P or nuetral or something along those lines. is that going to effect me or is that a feature of the aod??

`got the auto pedals out finally!!!!!! got the guage cluster apart, and stopped...... just have to re-route the speedo cable and the inside part of the job is pretty much done!!!!!

i totally forgot that i responded to this thread until i saw your post over in talk.

on the "park" thing, the aod has a small wiring harness running to it under the car, somewhere around where the speedo plugs into the trans. the aod will have four wires, two run to the reverse light switch, the others run to the aod's version of a neutral safety switch. the t5 has a seperate harness that jumps the safety switch (since the one on the clutch pedal is theoretically hooked up). instead of tracking down the harness, i followed my wiring diagrams and found the two "park" wires and connected them to each other, and used a pair of bullet connectors on the backup light terminals. of course, if you have the harness you just plug it in and its easier that way.
