ok guys im in the process of rebuilding my whole car so money is tight right now i just got the steeda 19 cam and i have gt 40 irons too so i want to put on a new manifold as well to have my uppper half of my engine not stock i eventully want to put on the gt40 tubular intake but i can not afford it right now so something more practical would be explorer intake manifold..so can if i bought the explorer intake mani could i later down the road swap the upper intake with a tubular one? i know in pictures the explorer and tubular lowers look the same could you do this ?

The gt40 upper will mate upto a explorer lower, so yes they are interchangable. If I remember right I think the explorer upper is slightly taller as well.

As stated yes this will work. Be careful though, on some Explorer lower intakes there is no threaded hole for your ACT sensor on the drivers side #2 intake runner. You can still run this lower but you will have to drill and tap a hole for your sensor. PITA, just try to find one with an ACT sensor hole.
