I've always had good luck with just the cheap Mercon/Dexron III ATF that they put in the transmissions from the factory.

Too easy. Probably best done with ramps. Just get underneath and open the trannie drain and allow it to drain completely, close it, then, probably easier from the inside of the car with the shifter trim removed, pull the rubber plug and pump new fluid in (or, you can use a syringe or funnel). Take it for a spin, then check for leaks. The T-45 takes 6.6 pints (or about 3.3 quarts) Don't over fill!
Not sure how much in the TR-3650...? Anyone know?

DO NOT put GM Synchromesh in the T-3650. You need a Synthetic ATF like Mobil 1. That's what I put in mine, also using the revised fill level of 3.3 quarts (lowered from what it originally was). Shifts like a champ.

GM Syncromesh works fine in the TR-3650. The service manager at my local Ford dealer actually recommended it, and several of the Mustang-owning mechanics at the dealership swear by it. I put it in my car last summer and it's been fine. It went through a Chicago winter without a problem, too. I did it myself in my driveway--I don't know if it would be easier to do it from inside the car, but I didn't want to remove interior pieces if I didn't have to. They always seem to squeak more after they've been messed with. I bought a cheap fluid pump (not a siphon) and pumped it into the tranny from under the car. It took awhile, but it was cost effective

If you can purchase Havoline in your area, that's actually what Tremec recommends for the TR-3650. I can't get it here, so I went with the Syncromesh.

thanks, I have a T-45 and ever since I installed my tri-ax, been getting a grind occasionally when I go in into reverse. Hopefully the syncromesh will take care of that.

ay face, your t-45 doesn't have a synchro for reverse so don't try to put it in gear while the car is on the move.

Feels like rubber bearings were put in my 3650, nice and smooth now.
