Haven't checked the vacuum signal. What should it be on a stock engine at idle?

compression was between 160 and 170 on all cylinders.

I know MPG is much easier to gauge on the freeway than driving around town. Unfortunately, almost all my driving is around town. If I go on the freeway, it's usually not for more than about 5 miles. Most of my city driving doesn't involve going much over 40, with plenty of stop lights.

I would really like to check my highway MPG, to see if it's similar to what my previous 5.0's have gotten (low 20's). Hopefully I'll get a chance to take it out on the road this summer. Right now it's pretty much to school and back.

Thanks again, I really appreciate the help.

Jeff, look for 18-20" of vac at idle.

I hear ya about the in-town milage vs highway milage. Around town with a bit of idling, I only pull down 15 MPG. I dont freak over it though since I know it would go up a bit on the highway with CC on. That was all I was tryin to say.

Good luck.

I'll dig out my vacuum gauge later today and check my vacuum.

I guess I'm getting worried about nothing, it doesn't sound like my mileage is that far off.

Thanks again.

I've got a solid 18" at idle with the engine all warmed up.

As I was thinking about vacuum, I realized that I am getting unmetered air into my engine with my setup, since I removed the oil filler to TB line because of my supercharger. I've read a bunch of posts about that, but I didn't find much information on what to do with a SC. I'm going to start a new thread for that, so I don't hijack this one any more than I already have.

Thanks.

Jeff
