Hey guys, I've heard the Mark 8's cooling fan is better than my 96 Cobra's and it has been suggested that swapping to it will help with cooling a bit. I checked with SVT and according to them with my VIN none of the recalls were ever done on my vehicle. Is it true that the Mark 8's fan is better than my Cobra? I havn't had much luck in finding info on this. If so, are there instructions on the swap or is it just an in and out deal where it all falls into place because it's virually the same? Thanks

The fan pulls more air than any I have used or seen.
It also pulls a lot of amps. You will need a good relay
and use 14 or better wire. I have not been able to
figure out the low speed wiring. It also makes some
fan noise, but it will cool.
good luck,
joe

Thanks for the info! Anyone else out there know what's involoved to get the Mark 8 fan into a Cobra? Do you just have to swap the mark 8 fan motor into the cobra fan assembly or do you have to buy the entire mark 8 fan assembly and put it in? Is the wire that goes to the fan 14 guage in the Cobra already or would it have to be upgraded as well? Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

If your '96 never had the cooling TSB performed you will probably want to replace your A/C condensor with a '97+ spec version condensor...

Run a search for keyword "cooling" for more info or simply visit the thread below:
