i did a really simple setup. Mine is activated by a toggle switch. So, hook up the fan, and hook up the relay and thats it.

Same principle as your starter solenoid. For the taurus fan, you should be able to get away with a 30 maybe, not really sure. Ive got an 80 amp relay for my mark 8 fan.you really only need 75 though. (Thats all they had at the shop) Im taking the fan off anyway. It draws too much power. Im just too lazy to put the ramchargers fan on at the moment. Not to mention i very rarely even turn the fan on

oops nevermind i knew what a relay does...just had a brain fart...it takes away most of the power so it doesnt go to the switch and the switch sorta just turns on the relay ormakes it so u dont have to go all teh way to the switch wth teh wiring...but do u still need one if your not using a switch?...can someone post up some useful sites that wont make my head spin when looking at them? lol

you still have to use the relay. With a fan that doesnt draw all that much power, you prob could get away fine without a relay. my friend just runs a little nissan fan wired right to the coil and it works fine.

Check this page, (bottom of technology page) it'll lower your current draw and is easier than changing the fan.

umm i have 4 connections instead of 3 on my mark 8 fan..... it has the positive and the negative but 2 in btw them how would this work

"Run a 10 guage wire from the positive side of the solenoid to the relay. Run another 10 guage wire from the relay to the fan, and some 10 guage wire from the fan to a good ground. Now, with some 12/14 guage wire, run a line from key on 12v to the relay. And finally run some 10 guage wire from the relay to a good ground"

how woudl that work ? then i make a switch to turn it on and off?

edit where would i connect the 2 wires on the fan?

The fan needs a ground and a +.
The relay has 4 posts on it. On the 2 larger posts, one of the wires connects to the battery(always hot) and the other side goes to the positive terminal on your fan. Then just hook up the switched power from a 12v source. I got a fuse splitter thing from pep boys. Iused that wire and ran that to my switch and then to the relay.

This will all be easy once you have everything and are starting to hook it all up
