last night i was pulling my heads and everything off my 306 with the cracked block and a question occured to me again.

before i put it in, there were marks on the tops of the pistons. like deep scratches, about 3/4" long. it is only on a couple pistons and the largest is the 3/4" but it is pretty deep. it was there before i installed it, and when i asked my cousin he wasn't real sure what to think.

just by an eye comparison. i would say they are about as deep as a dime, maybe a little shallower. ill have to go look again to get an exact number of pistons with the damage. on the others, it is more like little chips.

are these scars and chips a normal thing? now that my block is cracked from this guy, im just wondering about these marks.

they are nowhere near the flycuts though, and they are straight. doesnt really seem like p-v clearance problems. plus the cam he was using is what i used with the same size valves/springs and no issues

my damn digital camera program got eaten by my computer virus, and i have no disc drive to reload it. otherwards i would take some pics
