mass air conversion help!

hey guys im in the middle of doing a mass air conversion on my 86 gt but i cant figure out how to get the pins in and out of the eec connector. all the websites and instructions i have say something about using a pick to remove some kind of lock. im assuming thats the red thing on the front side of the connector but how do i unlock it to change the pins?

I just kind of pryed it out with a small screwdriver..then you still have to use somthing to get the actual pins out. There is a little plastic clip that holds each pin in that you have to pry out of the way to get the pins out

Don't actually cut your connector in half, that was for viewing purposes. The idea is to get that long plastic flex-tab to bend away from the female wire end to release it, inside the connector. A long, sharp sewing needle works great for this.

is there something i might be missing because iv been prying on it but i feel like im gonna break it before it comes out. does it take a lot of force to pry out?
