The sensor is calibrated to the computer. You cannot use one from another model car unless it has the same computer calibration. You can use 70 MM MAF assembly with the sensor from one of the following cars. Do not try to use the sensor without using the 70 MM housing. They are designed to work together and will match the 5.0 Mustang's computer.

94-95 Mustang GT MAF - $40-$100. It is 70 MM instead of the stock 55 MM on regular stangs built prior to 94. It uses a slip on duct on the side that goes to the throttle body and a 4 bolt flange on the other. You need a flange adapter to fit the stock slip on air ducting that goes to the air box. Wiring plugs right in with no changes. *1 *2

The 94-95 Mustang 5.0 MAF & sensor is also found on:

Evidently the –A1A, -A2A, AA, etc. on the end of the part number is a minor variant that did not change the operating specs. You should be able to ignore it and have everything work good.

The stock replacement part you are looking for will have an 'F1ZF' in the part number.

In my opinion, it would be best to snag the electronics and the MAF tube, as Ford calibrates these setups as a unit.
This shouldn't make a significant difference, but the potential is there...
Just taking the sensor will also expose the sensor wires to the risk of being damaged during transport...


The F1ZF/55mm units can also be found on some Taurus and T-Bird models. There may be others as well, so just keep your eyes open as you wander through the j/y.


With all that said though...

The 94/95 MAF is nearly a direct swap...
