I finally installed my mass airflow sensor with my 24/lb injetors its supposed to be calibrated for them anyways I redid alot of wirirng and added a 255 lph fuel pump and fixed a leak in my intake.. So I finally started my car for about 2 mins and it ran like ass Im thinking its my mass air flow sensor.. or is it supposed to run like crap for a while till the computer umm does its thing ?? anyways I need help thanks

its not a conversion when I bought the injectors the mass came with it... it said it was calibrated for the injectors it was a kit for my mustang from jegs I noticed they don't sell it anymore errr. I only ran the car for a few seconds... I've had this hooked up before and I unhooked my mass airflow and put my stock one back on and it ran OK but... I've heard it was bad to run the stock MASS with my 24's anyways I dunno what to do lol any help would be appreciated.. :canada:

You're right - the stock MAS and 24's would lead to rich running.

Do you have a part number or something to cross reference on the MAS?

Good luck.

Since you did some wiring work, at least pull the KOEO codes. Even if the motor is not at operating temp, this could give you some good information.
:nice:

If you don't find anything with KOEO, then start the motor back up and run the KOER.

The fact is... without the codes (at least the KOEO's), we are just guessing...

As JT said, some part numbers & brand names may allow others to confirm that the kit you purchased is appropriate for what you are doing.
It wouldn't be the first time someone was shipped the wrong part number...

Help for dumping the codes in case you haven't done it before...

Dump the codes and see what the computer says is wrong…Codes may be present in the computer even if the Check Engine light isn’t on.

Here's the link to dump the computer codes with only a jumper wire or paper clip and the check engine light, or test light or voltmeter. I’ve used it for years, and it works great.

See http://www.troublecodes.net/Ford/
OR

IF your car is an 86-88 stang, you'll have to use the test lamp or voltmeter method. There is no functional check engine light on the 86-88's except possibly the Cali Mass Air cars.

Codes have different answers if the engine is running from the answers that it has when the engine isn't running. It helps a lot to know if you had the engine running when you ran the test.

Trouble codes are either 2 digit or 3 digit, there are no cars that use both 2 digit codes and 3 digit codes.

For those who are intimidated by all the wires & connections, see http://www.actron.com/product_detail.php?pid=16153 for what a typical hand scanner looks like. Normal retail price is about $30 or so at AutoZone or Wal-Mart.

Or for a nicer scanner see http://www.midwayautosupply.com/pc-7208-90-equus-digital-ford-code-reader-3145.aspx – It has a 3 digit LCD display so that you don’t have to count flashes or beeps.. Cost is $30.

You don't have a paper clip? Thats all it takes.

Send me your land address and I will send you a certified to dump codes paper clip. :D:
