I never did like to read anyway...haha

Honestly I'd have to see the car at this point. I've heard belts squeal really loud, and not at all with a shot tensioner.
But since your telling me the ac pulley locks up when you engage the a/c I would say the compressor could also be the problem. Like I said, I'd have to see the car myself, but since its going to the dealership tomorrow, please let me know what happens with it.

Thanks for the help msgt05, I'm sure I'll be back to bitch about whatever they charge me lol. I didn't say the pulley stopped, only that I was afraid that's what had happened. I never allowed it to run for any extended period of time because as soon as I heard the noise I turned the A/C back off. BTW, there is no squealing with the A/C on at idle. Only when I give it gas does it squeal.

I had thought the same thing with my car, but it turned out to be a blew out belt, even though it looked fine. My belt was actually wobbling enough under high RPM to touch the drivers timing cover a little. I pulled off the old belt, cleaned up the pulley surfaces that run on the back of the belt with a scouring pad, and put on a gatorback, and everything is sweet now. No more squealing, but someone swears that when I put on my gatorback, it made my engine have a light hum, like a supercharger. I don't notice it myself, but hey, I don't mind that noise!

I got the gatorback whine also. hehe

Alrighty guys, I popped the hood this afternoon before taking it to Pacifico Marple and I noticed that the tensioner was at the very end of its throw. I went down to NAPA and got a shorter belt. Turns out the primate working at the dealership I bought the car from put the wrong belt on there (twice lol) and then I assume he just gave up. Everything was fine for the first 150 miles until the belt stretched a little bit. Lesson: do as much maintanance yourself as possible, even if the dealer is willing to pick up the tab.
