I'm convinced my stock brake booster needs replacing and I plan on doing the 5-lug conversion soon, but not immediately.

Could I put the 96 V6 booster/master cylinder in now, reroute the left front brake to the prop valve (I'll replace the 12mm nut with a 7/16"-24 nut, already have the tools and parts), and just bleed the system?

Any side effects that any one can think of?

I had to replace my MC a few months before I did my 5 lug conversion and I used the 94-95 MC with my stock booster. My pedal was rather hard, especially on a panic stop. It was manageable otherwise. It got much better after I installed the SN95 fronts and the disc rears. It is still a bit hard on panic stops, but I attribute that to using a Fox booster. If you are using the Mc and booster, it would probably be better than mine was, I would think.

Good luck!
