ok im planning on building a 393 with the 351 i have and i was wondering how you measure the stroke with the con rods/crank not in the engine. Im pretty sure a 393 is a 3.85 stroke with .030 pistons. Like if i had a connecting rod and a crank in front of me what would i do and what would i measure>?

thanks

Drew

You have to be able to measure from the center of the crankshaft to the center of the rod journal and then double it. And yes, a 393 has a 3.85" stroke. Why do you need to measure? If you have a 393 crank, you have what you want. Or are you trying to ID the crank you have?

well i have a scat 9000 series crank and i have it sitting here. I bought it from this guy i know and i realized that since he didnt include the box i dont even know if its made for a 393. I know its a scat though.
