Medium Shadow Blue 3r Ss Or Bc/cc????

I cant find a defiant answer if this is a Single Stage Paint or a Base Coat Clear Coat, i have read that 89 still had all SS paints but i just dont know if its right? Need to fix some places so i want to know what type it is.

I believe it's SS, but if it has ever been repainted then it is probably BC/CC. I know factory 1990 was SS, but not sure about '89.

You could just take a little rubbing compound on a small area. If the cloth comes back colored, it is single stage.

Yea that's my next test. Just wonder if I can get the color in single stage in a rattle can.

What are you trying to do? If it is original paint it is unlikely that you will get a good match, due to fading from time and the generally poor matching characteristics of touch up aerosols.

The best touch-up I've come across is from automotivetouchup.com. Their paint matches really good out of a rattle can, but everything they have is BC/CC. I used it on my drivers fender, and front bumper cover, and it isn't an exact match, but I think it would be if the rest of my car wasn't faded. Oh yeah, it's been repainted before with a BC/CC.

Just the door jambs and sills, have some paint flaked off just want to seal it to prevent rust.

If you go to a PPG distributor they can mix you the proper color in Aerosol. It should match well enough for the jambs.
