Here is a quote from Meguiars catalog on #2 Fine Cut Cleaner
"For machine removal of stubborn paint defects Professional detail shops rely on Mirror Glaze Fine-Cut Cleaner as the best answer for removing light oxidation, swirls, scratches and hard water spots. Its special formula of Buffered Abrasives™ turns into a gentle buffing rouge, giving you a professional finish that's ready for polishing, protecting-and if necessary, painting.
For use with a rotary buffer only. Made for Professionals"
#2 is an agressive cleaner and I wouldn't recommend that anyone just go out and buy it without having tried less agressive methods first. In your situation Dark Knight GT it may have worked but, that is not going to always be the case with everyone. #2 fine cut cleaner will haze your paint if it is not used by rotary because the cleaners need the high speed to break down properly.
It is always best to start off with a mild cleaner and if that fails than move to something slightly more agressive and so on until you find one that will do the job. Eventually you will learn what will do the job from the beginning and you won't have to go through a whole list of products to find the correct one.
Hope that makes sense. Also, hope I don't offend anyone, just looking out for the newbies
