Melbourne area stangs

On a side note I am going to shoot myself because I just put a new valve body in my Peformance Automatic Super Comp AOD trying to fix the problem of not having a third gear and guess what it stilll does not work right :mad: . I am going mad with the POS, I put more time and money into this thing to rewarded with a screwed up car thats top speed right now is about 60mph because there are no gears after 2nd. I am already halfway through my 90 day warranty which my car spent most of that time sitting in a garage because the tranny was so screwed up.
Should of went with a damn 5 speed conversion for even a cheaper price.

I'm planning on swapping the spindles when I do the big brake kit. I was planning on selling the entire setup together as a conversion for the fox bodies. If you're interested though, I might part it out.

That really sucks 5.0. :( Hope it all works out (without a huge amount of money).

I'm up for buying the entire front brake setup from you, its a lot easier that way than trying to piece it together. Whenever you get your swap done just give me a notice. I'm not trying to put any pressure on you either, buy your parts when you have the time, I'm just planning for a future 5 lug disc conversion.

hey 5.0's...whats wrong with the tranny? shift linkage or somethin?

i know youve been fighting it for awhile (remember you posting about it...what, 3 months ago?)...maybe the tranny is just defective? im not a big aod-buff...so not much "words for the wise" i can give...just wanted to know whats goin on:cheers:

I will. I'm wanting to do the swap before the end of the year, but coming up with the coin for new wheels and the brakes by then is going to be a stretch. I'll keep you posted though. :)

I wish I knew man. I don't start going to my Ford tranny classes till about October so I can't totally diagnose this thing. I think there has always been something internally wrong with the tranny from the get go. Its always acted and shifted strange. Had the ongoing problem with the linkage. It then lost third gear after some dyno tuning over at Lamottas. I've been talking with PA's tech guy and we came to the idea of trying a new valve body to see if that would fix the problem, well it didn't. I did see a lot of metal shavings in the pan for a tranny with only 400 miles on it. That kind of raised my attention that I am fighting a losing battle with this thing. The only thing left is that its going to have to come out agian and probably be shipped back. I wish they would just give me a brand new one, but it seems that they really don't build many of these trannys, only when a order comes in for one. I can't get in touch with them till tuesday, so I don't know the true fate of my tranny yet, but I know its going to have to come out again. Its just my time and money, so they probably won't give a crap.

Hey, anyone here have the link to the online article about Al's car? A friend at work doesnt' believe it's possible to drop a 5.4L into a SN95, and I can't find the 5.0 Mag with the article in it.

Nevermind, I found the mag. Now, which thread did he mention hitting 11.3?

I've personally seen him go 11.3 too and I believe he's trapping 119-120. Very impressive car. :nice:
