Yup, the 16th. Makes me wonder when the Nov CFR event is going to be . And the new grille looks pretty sweet :nice:. I'm not to sure about the licence plate though :D ;).

I do not like the license plate either!!! But.. it is my wifes car and she like it. She is into Boxing and we had called the cars color kermit green. Her mom got the plate at the mall or fea market or something. I might take it off and say its messing up the paint.

I finally know what caused my tranny to lose third gear. I was over at Lamottas today to pick it up because I am returning it on monday and it turns out the damn input shaft broke in half. This is suppose to be Performance Automatics one bad b*tch hardened input shaft that cost $212 extra. Here is what they say about it on their website:
"Built for strength, designed for competition and trusted for its reliability, the hardened input shaft from Performance Automatic is a welcome addition no matter what your application. Custom forging from 4340 non-twist steel produces the toughest shaft around. Hung-style heat treating and a classified cool down process produce a tensile strength of 185,000 p.s.i. and the capability to handle an extremely fast rate shear-load. Quality, performance, value, and a lifetime warranty make the hardened input shaft from Performance Automatic an essential component for anyone looking to raise their transmission to the next level"

I just find it a little strange how my mustang only puts out 300rwhp yet I break this input shaft in my Super Comp AOD thats rated to 800hp. Oh, I guess Lamotta's dyno is just reading low by about 450rwhp, I must be making more than 800hp, how else could of I broke this

Either way, its all PA because its their custom part and they were the ones who built my tranny.

Now that I know what really happend to this thing I want more of my money back. I am getting hit with a crazy 35% restocking fee while Performance Automatic makes away like a bandit. Thats BS, they have a real quality control problems over there. My stock AOD with 97K miles on it lasted for 5 months with the blower on. It still works today, just slips under heavy acceleration.
On a good note, my TKO conversion should be done sometime this coming week

The plate is history!!:D

I convinced wife to let me take it off. It had rubbed some purple shiot from the back of it onto the car. 20 minutes off goof off and a good coat of wax and we are kermit free!!

Sweet, but is she going to let you turbo it too?

No...One turbo car is enough.

She said yes to a little vacation for it to Steeda next year after it is paid for. If steeda does the work its still under warranty. So on goes a supercharger.

Jonathan - I did sign up for the Nov. 3rd last week. I was told There was a good chance I would get on. I am on a waiting list right now.

I am on there James C. 87 Mazda Rx7 Turbo II.

My buddy Bob Atkins will be there too. He is the dude in BSP that is always comparing times to my ASP runs. He is still pissed that I beat him in Novice. Back then there were tenths between us now there are a few seconds. That will make for an interesting day.

I am there for the seat time on that track so I dont care to prove anything to him. I know we cant anyway.

Are you giving me an excuse to go up there (i.e. you're thinking about it)?

Hmmm... I know I ran a Nov event last year. I knew that Dec was a no race month, but didn't know they cancelled Nov this year too. Not that I'm complaigning. Jerry's getting a little too close to my points lead ;).

And Jim, glad to hear about the license plate :nice:.

Great story from my drive to school this morning. I'm taking a left of Riverside onto the causeway, and I see this Green LS1 T/A up ahead of me, going through traffic pretty quick. So I catch up with him, and start following him move for move through traffic. We wind up have a 20 minute street race from beachside to BCC, since apparently we both have 8AM classes. No real straightaways, it was mostly very quick lane changes and agressive passsing. The great thing is that that I beat him there by about 20 seconds. I was happy. :nice:

hey erichmess_, you wouldnt happen to have a white 2000 Cobra R hood on your GT , would you? ... all lowered and some white numbers on the windows.. a couple stickers just in front of the doors?
I go to BCC too, and I see that beast just about every day..i love that thing.. I catch myself staring at it when i actually see it in motion...exhaust ( or lack there of :D ) sounds beautiful.

:nice:

Hey guys, for those of you who don't get the Orlando Sentinel, I highly suggest picking it up today and reading the Ride section. Two great articles in there. The first called "and Then there was One" is a great article about the Mustang and the '03 Cobra more specicially. The other, to the left of it, is about ricers and drag racing, where he attacks the entire ricer scene. They are both great. :nice:
