Thought this would be useful to anyone considering this wax. I just put one coat on this Sunday afternoon. I would recommend it. Really took the swirl marks out.

Actually it would be more useful if anyone could see it. Can't get the photo any larger than 350 x whatever? If anyone knows a trick to getting the photos on here larger let me know.

I thought it was great too, until I washed it 2 weeks later. No trace of wax left on the car! See how yours goes, but I'm thoroughly unimpressed now...

You know, I heard someone else say that NXT doesn't last that long. But on the bottle, it claims to be their longest-lasting wax ever.

Anyone else have a comment on the durability of NXT? I don't care how good the shine is--if it doesn't last 2 weeks it's definitely not worth $15 a bottle.

I hit the car with Dawn and a clay bar before the NXT, and did a really nice wax job. I noticed after a week it wasnt beading much, and when I washed it, it looked like it did after the dawn had stripped all the wax off. I was pissed to be honest.

I have slated Zaino because its too damn expensive, but to be honest its more durable than any other wax ive used...

I've said this a million times. Taking pics you can always avoid showing swirls etc, catch reflections and make the paint look great with any wax. Honestly you can get a nice picture of a car with any wax on it depending on how you take it. The real test is being there for a better look and seeing how long it beads for.

I could take pictures of my car after the Dawn treatment (wax free) that look as good as any you post with different waxes...

I for one am very impressed what this wax did for my '85, and water was still beading 2 weeks after the treatment. I think it's a good product and I'll continue to use it.

What did you use to wash it? If you used the NXT Wash and are using beading as an indicator that something is on your paint than that is possibly why you were unimpressed. NXT Wash is designed to sheet the water off the paint to aid in drying the car off to avoid water spots. If you prefer beading than use something like Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo to wash instead.

As with any product though sometimes people get differing results and what works for me may not work for someone else. This is why Meguiars offers a money back guarantee. If you aren't happy with NXT they will gladly refund your money so really you don't have anything to lose but a bit of time to try it out.

Actually waxes and sealants can improve the shine. If you look at paint surface under a microscope it is not perfectly flat, even the best paint job is not going to be perfectly flat. Waxes and sealants help to level the surface to create a better mirror for reflections. Yes the paint is responsible for "most" of the shine but, there is room for improvement.

Sure, pictures can hide flaws and imperfections. You can also make awesome reflection shots by taking pictures in the shade or low light. The best pictures are ones that are the most accurate are ones taken in full sun. Even then you aren't going to see the flaws and imperfections but, I think most people are just trying to show off the shine rather than trying to prove they have a flawless finish.

I think the Meguires NXT wax is great. If you read the label and use the product the way it was meant to be used, you should wind up with a very durable, long lasting shine and protection. Like Zaino, NXT is meant to be applied in multiple applications, says so right on the bottle. In between applications, you use the booster wax, which is no more difficult than applying Quick Detailer, just spray on, wipe off, and buff. I have 4 coats of NXT on my Torch Red Mach 1, and I can really tell the difference! The car is a much deeper shade of red and doesn't get that washed-out orange look to it anymore at night under parking lot lighting.

You know...I'm completely torn on NXT too; I can't figure out if it's durable or not. It looks stunning right after I use NXT, but after a few days of rain and a good washing, the shine seems to decrease a notch. After a couple weeks, I'm not impressed and feel the urge to reapply. Another odd thing I've noticed is that after you apply NXT and slide a towel across the hood, it's just not very slippery. When I used the cheap NU-Finish stuff, a towel would slide right off the hood from one end to the other. Lastly, when I get NXT on my hands, a little soap and water takes it right off. When I used NU-Finish, I remember it was a pain to get off.

On the other hand, there are things I like about NXT. It's so easy to apply; it's like putting lotion on your skin. The best thing is when you get it on your black plastic, honeycomb, and seals, it comes off like water. Removing it is equally simple, there is virtually no dust, and the entire process was hours quicker than other waxes/polish.

I believe I've used 4 waxes/polish to date...Basic Turtle wax (in a gift box), Gold Class, Nu-Finish, and NXT. Maybe I was in a different stage of my life where I wasn't as observant, but I don't remember being impressed by Gold Class and Turtle Wax for all the time I invested. Nu-Finish impressed me, seemed to hold up for months, it got me compliments, and it was cheap. On the negative side, it was harder to remove, it was extremely hard to get off black plastic, and it was very dusty when removing. If you missed some spots and tried to remove them a couple weeks later, it was brick hard to get off.

NXT was the first professional type wax I've used, and it's great, but I'm concerned about it's durability. I'm thinking about trying Zaino next time.
