Mequires NXT Wax - Results

The thing about NXT is you HAVE to take it off before it completely dries...(kinda like spray detailer). If I'm not mistaken, it says there is no drying(curing) time on the bottle. Now, I have no trouble with the NXT lasting on my car, but I always use the Meguires Quik Detailer right after the waxing, then I give it a super rub-down with a couple of microfiber towels. This seems to do the trick for me. BTW, I use Zymol car wash between waxes, and the water seems to RUN from the car while rinsing.......try these steps and see what you guys come up with.

NXT is what I want to try next.. then Zaino.. I don't know why durability is an issue.. especially if you wash your stang 1 time every week or two..

Actually that's a very good point that I was wondering about the other day. It seems that whenever I wash after applying NXT, the car is coated with a layer of dust within 1-2 days; I don't remember this problem in the past. Are we simply being more critical in a discussion forum, or has anyone else noticed this?

Sure, pictures can hide flaws and imperfections. You can also make awesome reflection shots by taking pictures in the shade or low light. The best pictures are ones that are the most accurate are ones taken in full sun. Even then you aren't going to see the flaws and imperfections but, I think most people are just trying to show off the shine rather than trying to prove they have a flawless finish.

Looks good everyone, I might get that stuff, but I don't think it'll make that much of a difference on my white car.

I believe I've used 4 waxes/polish to date...Basic Turtle wax (in a gift box), Gold Class, Nu-Finish, and NXT. Maybe I was in a different stage of my life where I wasn't as observant, but I don't remember being impressed by Gold Class and Turtle Wax for all the time I invested. Nu-Finish impressed me, seemed to hold up for months, it got me compliments, and it was cheap. On the negative side, it was harder to remove, it was extremely hard to get off black plastic, and it was very dusty when removing. If you missed some spots and tried to remove them a couple weeks later, it was brick hard to get off.

NXT was the first professional type wax I've used, and it's great, but I'm concerned about it's durability. I'm thinking about trying Zaino next time.

Not to be picky but NXT is not a professional type wax. It was designed and is marketed for the general consumer. There is talk of a professional version but, Meguiars says that is still way off.

As to the durability NXT needs time to cure after you have applied it. Not sure if it says it on the bottle but Meguiars recommends that you let it cure for 12-24 hours after wiping it off. You should avoid getting it wet or quick detailing it for that period of time. I usually apply NXT in the late afternoon and then let it sit in the garage over night.

There is also the possiblity that it just isn't going to work for you. NXT wouldn't be the first product that people got differing results with and it won't be the last.

I'm not going to get caught up in the NTX thing. Somehow I think people rate it better than it really is. Right now I use Zaino but I am switching to Menzerna polish, Klasse sealant, and P21S carnauba wax. Only thing bad about it is the price but my paint is very important.

I used NXT almost a month ago, I have washed the car several times but I was out of town the last week and didn't wash her at all however it rained almost every day I was gone. When it drip dry's I am still not getting water spots and it still has a pretty decent shine to be more accurate I'd have to hand wash her to be sure it looked as good as it did when I applyed the NXT.

I've used Zaino along with Turtle wax and Nu-Finish they were all great products Zaino being #1 in my book right now it's a toss up since I need to see how long the NXT lasts but Zaino was much harder and longer to apply. If I can get 1-2 months per coat of NXT and only take 45mins to apply it then getting 4-6 months of Zaino when taking 4-5 hours to apply it then I'll choose NXT hands down.

Again it's all on personal preference and results but I'll give NXT a thumbs up for now

It shines better than thier gold class, doesnt leave white residue on your black plastic parts, goes on and comes off easy. I've had it on mine for a month and it's fine. Theres a booster wax for after you wash it to restore the high gloss look if lost. It's good stuff. And you can buy it anywhere.

I have been a die-hard fan of Carnauba waxes since I bought my first car back in 1972. I've used all different brands and combinations, including Maguire's 3 part system....cleaner, polish, and wax although I have not used Zano's. All waxes I have used over the years have worked as advertised. Seeing that the technology of automotive paint has advanced quite a bit since the 70's, I thought I would spend $14 and try a bottle of this NXT "wax"...Eagle One also makes a similar product but cheaper. The car is garage kept and due to it starting to rain it was over 24 hours before I drove it after waxing. I can honestly say I have never had a car come out so smooth or looking so good after waxing...the mineral gray paint seemed to look a lot deeper the next day. She has been washed once and still looks like it did when I waxed it. Time will tell how the NXT holds up but so far I am impressed.
