Broke
My car needs service B (which is basically oil change, top off fluids, few filters and lube a few things. Mercedes price $500 (making use of a $100 off coupon! Woohoo!).
It also needs new front pads and rotors. Mercedes price with labor $812!!!

Needless to say I'll be doing this stuff myself, but I thought you guys would find it funny. 1300 for an oil change and front brakes!!!!:shock:

ahhh they are using the new Pure GOLD oil, that is made from melted gold, and the oil filter is made from the new Diamond Technology, using real diamonds to filter the gold, quite impressive, ....on a serious note...Are they *****ing for real????

Most of thier customers have an extended service plan and would never
consider even opening the hood.

ding ding ding ding ding, if you buy a benz you spend a few extra thou and get ext coverage for as long as you can, then sell it off to some schmuck after it hits 100k then the poor feller has to spend all his blue collar job money to keep his shiny new/old black mercedes going

I bet that brake job sucks a million times more than you could possibly imagine, good luck with it.

yea ive owned all kinds of german cars, audis are terrible because they have like 18 control arms per side which need replacing every 6 days, beemers well they just love to leak even if they sometimes have 50k miles, and mercedes well you need to remove the whole motor to get to a 50 dollar crank sensor.

i love my jeep and mustang, oh and japanese cars are decent too

you know whats even better? i have a friend who was a master certified tech at mercedes. he was like 2 courses away from tier 1, top dog level there.

he was still the top tech at his particular dealership.. they paid him 14 dollars an hour. :nice:

14 a hour LOL. Even 10 years ago I would not even open my tool box for that.. 14 a hour these days is a joke

My mom has an 06 c230 sport...I keep trying to tell her to sell it.

I just did an oil change on it. Cost 75 for 8 quarts of mobil 1 synthetic 0w-40 and I had to order the special fleece filter from a Benz wholesale dealer for 25 bucks.

Every service manual recommends removing the oil by vacuum pump from the top, but there is a drain plug to do it the old fashioned way. It's pretty straightforward.

As for the brakes, be careful when you do them, my friend tried to do a brake job on his 05 c230 sport and messed up both calipers. Cost for dealer ordered calipers was nearly 2000.

Nothing is cheap on these cars
