MGW's new Shifter, first impression.

Well, I had been anticipating this shifter for a LONG time. I have bought MGW stuff ever since I have owned a stang, and by just looking at any of their products, you could tell that craftsmanship was top notch. One thing I did notice, is that UPR always copied everything MGW did and made a sub-par replica to sell. Case in point the shift knobs and the adjustable shifter handle that MGW had carried for a LONG time that made an improvement on any shifter. Well, I remember MGW saying that they wanted to improve the short throw shifter in a way that actually improved the design and not just bandaided it. The first reports from the third parties testing this shifter say that in drastically changes the whole feel of the Mustang Shifter, even moreso than any shifter out now. Take a look and judge for yourself. I know I am definitely in line to get one and sell my Tri-ax.

here is the discussion thread for any question about this shifter you might have for MGW. SHIFTER THREAD

I'm a big fan of MGW....have the majority of their interior items, shifter handle & knob. I didn't even hesitate pre-ordering without seeing the shifter or any reviews....I was in from the first day I heard they were coming out with a shifter!!

I assume the handle is the red and blue pieces? That is certainly different looking. I guess with that set up you can turn the handle to any angle you want to. Nice. My Pro. 5.0 may be taking a vacation.

Correct....one handle is shorter for track (or someone who likes a really short throw) etc. (compared it to 5.0 handle) and the other is for every day driving/ergonomics (compared it to the Tri-Ax). When I say "compared" I mean in terms of height of the shifter handle. I ordered the taller handle......you can get both.
