I can't believe how much better this is than the stock piece. I knew the stocker was a piece of junk, but I'd forgotten what it was like to have a solid, positive shifter that didn't have to be babied into 3rd gear. Makes driving the car a much nicer experience, can't recommend it enough for anyone who's thinking about changing theirs out.

What's the hold up  It took me about an hour and 15 minutes to do the install from start to finish. Most of that time was spent getting the blasted inner boot off with a 8mm box end wrench since I didn't have a socket that size. I eventually figured out that a 5/16 socket fit those bolts very nicely and after that, the install was a piece of cake.

its not that. I have installed quite a few shifters in my day. It's this damn cold Maine winter!! Garage is too cold!

It's all clear now :rlaugh:

It was 70+ degrees here when I put mine in, pretty warm for this time of year even in the DC area. If you put yours in now you probably wouldn't get to enjoy it for another month or so at least (that sounds sort of pornographic now that I think about it). Trust me, once you finally get yours installed it will be worth the wait.
