Can anyone tell me how to tell if my 01 GT has the 99- mid 01 engine or the mid-01 + engine? I originally thought my car was the latter, but I happened to look at my data sticker in my door jam and it said my car was manufactured in March of 2001...so now Im not sure if it is or not. Any help is appriciated.

An even easier way is to look at either cam cover, there should be a sticker on it that shows where and when the motor was built. On Romeo motors which would be the latter 01 motor it will say REP for Romeo Engine Plant and for Windsor motors which would be the very early 01 motors it should say Windsor.

You can also count the cam cover bolts. All Romeo motors have 11 bolts on both cam covers, Windsors have 13 on one and 14 on the other.

My 2001 GT was built in October of 2000 and it has a Romeo motor so I would venture a guess that yours is also a Romeo.
