I have lately been noticing a vibration coming from my midpipe but only under full throttle and in first and second gear..I got under it and looked at it today and it looked like the pipe is just barely moving far enough sideways (there was an inch of clearance) to hit the chasis.. so the is a small scuff mark developing in the side of the pipe...a buddy of mine is thinking that I need new motor and tranny mounts cause the engine is twisting too much under heavy throttle and causing the pipe to bang the chasis (one inch clearance oughta be enough)..Does this hypothesis makes sense to you all? if I do in fact need new motor and tranny mounts should I go with solid ones even though it is a daily driver (what would be the downfall) or some hard plastic ones?

I would not recommend solid motor and tranny mounts for a daily driver. The noise, vibration and harshness would be dramatically increased. You would probably regret it soon after. If you want to replace the mounts, try Energy Suspension's polyurethane kit.

I agree. Stay away from solids for a street car. Some will even say to stay away from poly for the same NVH reasons.

Me, I'll go poly when I need to change mine out the cost delta between rubber and poly isn't too much.

But this does seem to be your problem. Try revving the engine with the hood open and see how much it moves. If you have an auto put it in gear and load it up.

Just a thought...
