MII Hood Struts?

I know I've seen a few MII owners that have installed hood struts, and even one that was selling a MII-specific kit, but I wasn't in the market at the time.

For those with hood struts, what are you using? A kit to fit another car, junkyard parts?

I read on this site that MRT has a new kit for Fox Mustangs (1979-1993 Mustang MRT Hood Struts). The passenger side looks pretty close to the MII battery location to me. What do you think?

Mine are basically junkyard parts. I cut the mounting points from a 95 T-bird and welded them to pieces of 1" x 1" angle, then trimmed some of the excess metal off the angles. Pop riveted them to the hood and inner fender with some large rivets and used the T-bird struts. My suggestion would be to buy a kit for another car and modify it as needed to fit the II mounting points. If you need any help modifying the brackets or want to look at mine up close, come over one Saturday and we'll get you fixed up. Here's a couple of photos:
