Im in the process of getting my plans (and money) together for the famous AFR/FTI set-up. I am still debating if I should have the heads milled to 55cc for a higher compression. I mean more compresion means more power but is it worth it? lemme hear your opinions.

I'd talk to Ed Curtis before you get any ideas about that. If you did mill the heads, it may mean you'd have to use less valve lift...which, as you know, may offset any gains from the increased compression. If you wanted to achieve more valve lift it may mean taking a grinder to your pistons or even replacing them. If you did that, then you may be able to use the AFR185s instead of the 165s. Like I said...give him a call or e-mail and get his take on the subject.

I briefly spoke to him through e-mail about pricing and he quoted me for the custom cam and the heads milled. I want to wait until I am placing my order before I take anymore of his time. It would be pointless to get all the information now then forget it by the time I buy it

If you mill those heads anymore you might have to mill the intake also so the ports line up. Find out your cam specs first then once you buy the cam see if you have room to mill, p/v clearance might be an issue. Is this on a stock 302???

I got the AFR 165 with the 58cc chambers. That compression works just fine for me.
