A car is only worth what someone is willing to pay....

I have seen other low mile SSC's trade for low to mid $20k's over the past year or so...

Absolutely! I saw this car earlier today on Ebay. He is trying to start the bids at $30K. WOW! It is a very nice car though inside and out with only 600 miles. That is a brand new 17 yr old car. "Heck, it's Almost as nice as mine."LOL They sold new for $36,500 but it still might be hard to sell it for that much today. Lets watch and see. As an SSC owner I'm rooting for him. It is time for values to start rising on these cars again. There's a guy here in Ga. SSC#10 asking $47K with around 800 miles on it. Ouch! That's a little bit nuts!

He has had it on Autotrader for some time now. He wants $39k. I think it could be worth almost what he has the bidding start at. It's not like it's an SA-10.

Looks like a great car except... What all would you have to replace to drive that thing? I think 600 miles on a 17 year old car is a double edged sword. Wouldn't there be dryrot all over the place? I'm thinking tires, hoses, gaskets of all sorts, etc? The idea of having a "new" 17 year old car is cool, but how much would you have to put into it to make it driveable? Second question, would you even want to drive it? Probably not! I think "most" cars are a crappy investment. I'd rather enjoy driving a car and invest in something else. If someone like me bought this car, you guys would be apalled b/c I'd put miles on it right away. Cars are made to be driven. When they aren't I think you incur a host of problems with them. My two cents...

Yea, yea, I'm ready to be flammed for this one...lol

How many hurses do you see with a U-Haul behind them. My dad once told me "Why would I not put miles on the car, once I pass away you are going to drive and enjoy it. Why should you get to have all the fun!"

He is correct

With only 600 miles on it, i would of worded the ad different. Instead of "always garaged". I would of put, "Only seen sunlight for these pictures".

Kind of dissappointed there is no engine pics.

That must be why they put engines and wheels on them!

I'm with the majority. I'd have to drive it. Cars are meant to be driven, and Saleens are performance cars, they are meant for the track. I enjoy the road course and will continue to take my to the track for fun. It's what makes me enjoy it even more.
