miss and service engine soon light

Ok, 2001 Gt Auto, I`ve got a new fuel filter and tranny filter on the way, along with a haynes manual. Anyways the other day, it started missing, and seems like its getting a little worse. Seems like it gets worse as it warms up, but could just be me. 67k on the car, best places to start looking? I ordered a code reader this morning for it, because it popped on a service engine soon light, and of course half way through the day, the light goes out. Still missing though. Thanks guys.

First, I would suggest seeing what code its throwing.

As was said first get the code to see which cylinder in missing.

A mouse could have chewed through the injector wire, inspect them.

You could have liquid in your plug well, inspect them.

You could have a fouled plug, inspect them.

You could have a bad coil, swap the bad cylinder one to another cylinder and see if the problem moves with the coil.
