Sometimes i get the impression that these magazines just want to promote the brands that advertise in them vs giving us real tech info.

5.0 mag this month has a 5-lug upgrade for FOx's that looked pretty decent in the regards that they would be using SN95 parts. However right in the middle they switched over to Baer front and rear disks and then had a little sidebar about how much "better" it would be to just order aftermarket peices vs putting it together yourself with SN95 parts. Keep in mind the price of the baer stuff was something like $1200 for the front and $1100 for the rears. Yeah...$2300 in aftermarket brakes is a much better route for us readers to take vs $500 in Ford parts.

I think I read that article too. I was confused for a minute and then I saw that they were "plugging" the baer stuff.

Yeah no kiddin, they do a budget buildup and budget in a set of AL heads or a supercharger.

I'm still waiting for the day they build up a 5.0 with GT-40P heads an explorer intake and other cheap mods.

I noticed that too. I was like "WTF, this isnt project spend 2 Grand." I thought the article was supposed to be about passed down parts (from newer Mustangs). Since when are Baer brakes passed down?

Hahah exactly! The entire article started out on the basis of upgrading cars with parts from newer cars!!

And then they go into the whole "btw, don't use factory parts, order your parts from Baer it's much easier"

What you forgot to say was $1800 more for almost the exact same brake system.

Baer's are great, if you have the cash, but not "better".

I think you missed the boat. They did this back in December '99 with a GT-40 intake.
