I got a 93lx and im planning on some minor mods. i just wanted some input on if the parts i want would go good together. I wanted to start with flowmaster super 44. but didnt know if i should go with long or short headers? thats question 1.
Q 2.. i wanted to get the bbk ssi intake and gt40 heads. Ive been reading the forums and most people put 24lb inj. on there cars, so i just wanted to know does that sound like a reasonably parts list and will all that work smoothly together.
Ive heard people say they have to shave the port on the intake and was wondering if any1 has had problems with the bbk ssi intake and if maybe i should go with another option. also other parts i should just put on in the process. thx

well for the headers it depends groud Clarence will go down so if your drive way is step or anything along the lines there i would go with shortys....

yes they will but if you go with 24lb injectors i would get a 70mm throttle body and a 75mm maf calibrated for 24lb injectors...if you dont get the maf your car will not run right.

Your parts list sounds good. What cam are you planing on running? And all so there are better intake for alote less money. That bbk is expensive.

intake

Ya and i didnt know if i should go with just the cobra intake, i mean they are cheaper too. Ebay i could find an uper and lower for like 320-400. so ur probly right on that one. Plus ive been reading that people have been having problems with the bbk intake leaking through the main seal of the uper and lower. And what do u think my best bet would be for gears. i was thinking of 4:10s but didnt want to go to low. but then again it wont be going on the highway out here in the country so who cares right?
F*** good gas mileage

ya my bro has a 96 cobra with 4:10s and same with him its usless in 1st. and ya it is a stick. i thought i would probly be going with the 3:73. do i have to shave the ports on the cobra intake if i put the gt40 heads on it. I know the 93 cobra has gt40 heads and ofcourse the cobra intake so in theory i shouldnt right?

I wouldn't go with a 70mm on that setup. 65mm is more like it.

Wouldn't hurt to gasket match the intake to the heads. I would go with 3.73. As far as the cam alote of people like the e303 but I perfer the TFS1, IMO it make a little more power and sounds better.

You won't need the injectors, 19# will keep up with what you are wanting to do.

Don't fear the gear.
is a couple HP worth a few hundred bucks? I'd go Cobra.
If you can find a fresh set of GT-40's cheap i'd get them, but if you have to freshen them up, just look for a set of alum. heads.
Go for the longtubes, you wont regret it (as long as you don't have steep entrances on drives etc.)
I'd go with a 65MM throttle body and 75mm MAF

COOL

Ya i dont have a steep driveway so i will go with the long tube. And i did plan on getting the heads new. I didnt want to "freshin them up". What is the easyiest way to have the ports matched. do i go to a shop and give them the intake and the heads and have them do it before i put them on the car? Is it really worth it do i get a power gain of the car, or should i just put it on there... thx for all imput
