Mod Cutting bumper. I wanna cut the mustang name out of the bumper and add in a green neon so the mustang name illuminates in the dark. Does anyone know which would be the best way to cut the name out? is the bumper plastic? What material etc does it burn if it gets hot etc? anyone know?

A dremel would be the best tool for this. Not sure how you will get a neon tube behind it with all the bumper supports, is there room? Also will probably be hella illegal to drive down the road with it on. I got pulled over once for a illuminated Ford Oval on the back of my Mustang.

And it will hella suck even more if some one rear ends you, taps your rear bumper in a parking lot or you back into something.

But post some pics when you complete it!

I wouldn't do it unless you have it in a car show parked and not while driving cause it's illegal all right.

if your asking these simple questions..seriously it sounds to advanced for your skills..if your just trying to come up with ideas..i got one..
you could use a drill with a 1/4 in drill bit and drill sm holes every 1/2inch or so around the edges of the letters then attach your neon from the back side..
i think sm holes in the day time would be less visable then cut out open letters.
you also would just get a hint of glow instead of being able to see the whole neon tube at night with the letters cut out..
i would just be afraid of what is behind the bumper..cause if you cut the letters out...that will be your new background during the day...

You would think that neon's would be standard on a Dodge Neon eh?

i guess that depends on what state you live in.. neon lights are illegal in
massachusetts... even those little neon wiper washers are illegal to have.

I'm not sure about Florida but in Arkansas you can have any color except red and blue on your vehicle. This includes blacklights. No red, blue, or blacklights anywhere on that vehicle with the exception being clear taillights with red bulbs. No flashing lights either unless you're emergency personnel or some form of hauling(mobile home transport, oversize, overheight, tow truck etc). I'm not sure what neon on the bumper would classify as but I know a friend of mine that if I recall correctly either got a warning or a ticket for having a neon lit license plate.
