Modification Advice forAdding Torque

I, unlike most of the world, do not care much about peak HP or 1/4 mile times. These things are rarely used in the city. For this reason, I want to build a Torque Monster for total SOP feel. I started with 4:10 gears (wish I would have installed the 4:30) and now I want to add other mods. I am leary of some mods sacrificing torque for horsepower.

What can I do to stay away from sacrificing tq for HP?
What can I do to add tons of Torque?

Higher compression ratio and more cubic inches is a good source for torque. Reducing weight doesn't add torque but the results are the same.

Of course there's always nitrous or any other power adder.

I know with the SCT you can gain some HP at the loss of some TQ. I assume it would or could be the same on the reverse. Gain some TQ at the expense of some low end TQ? Talk to your local tuner. I know Doug has a TQ tune specifically for the SOTP's feel. The old Butt-O-Meter!
